Preparing Team Singapore for Tokyo 2020 During A Global Pandemic
Until mid 2021, many wondered if the already postponed Tokyo 2020 would be held at all. It would prove to be the most challenging in terms of its health, safety precautions and planning due to the on-going global COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Teoh will share her experience on how her medical team prepared and rendered care to ensure the health and safety of Team Singapore.
SPEAKER BIO
Dr. Teoh Chin Sim is Senior Consultant and Clinical Director of the Sports and Exercise Medicine Centre at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where she cares for both competitive and recreational athletes.
She has served as Chief Medical Officer to Team Singapore at multiple major games, the most recent being the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also worked at the Rio, Pyeongchang and Tokyo Paralympics as a member of the International Paralympic Committee anti-doping team.
Come 2022, she will wear a new hat as member of the Commonwealth Games Federation Anti-Doping and Medical Commission, overseeing the delivery of the anti-doping programme and medical services in Birmingham.

Adapting to COVID-19 in Team Sports - Football
Ms. Nurhafizah will share her experience on caring for football teams during COVID-19 at the World Cup 2022 Qualifiers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and how team sports live with a pandemic.
SPEAKER BIO
Ms. Nurhafizah worked at the Singapore Sport Institute from 2010 to 2011. She later joined the Football Association of Singapore in 2012 and is currently leading the Sports Medicine department as Head Physiotherapist at the Lion City Sailors Football Club. She is also highly involved in the injury management of the National Men's A Team, especially during the FIFA International period. She also nurtures new physiotherapists who are keen to cover sports or football as their area of expertise. She has a certification in Aquatic Therapy and enjoys doing hydrotherapy sessions with her injured players as a form of recovery.
