Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS) is the registered society for Sports Medicine and Sports Science professionals in Singapore. Our members represent and embody the multi-disciplinary spirit that is key to the specialty. Our integrated community includes doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, sports nutritionists and dieticians, exercise physiologists, sports scientists and sports psychologists. Dr. Mandy is a Consultant with the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. Her clinical interests include performing arts medicine, exercise prescription, sports injury prevention and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. She is also Chair of the SMAS Performing Arts Medicine Special Interest Group.


Hwee Koon is a sports and exercise Physiotherapist with more than 10 years of on-field experience working with elite sportsmen. She has worked with numerous national athletes and has led the sports medicine and sports science teams to provide support for Team Singapore at numerous major games including the Olympics and Paralympics. Her forte is in sport-specific exercise rehabilitation, pitch-side management, developing injury prevention programmes, and planning and implementing sports medicine services for Team Singapore at major games.


Dr. Ethan is the Medical Director and Head of Network and Clinical Strategy at Fullerton Health Singapore. His clinical experience is in musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, lifestyle modification and prevention programmes in the public, private, government and corporate health space. Having had experience in the health insurance and health financing sector, he has dedicated his current career to bringing exercise and better health to more people.


Dr. Dinesh is a Consultant Sports & Exercise Medicine physician with Auspicium Orthopaedic Centre. While he manages a wide variety of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, his special interests lie in back and shoulder pain, team medicine and ultrasound-guided interventions.


Dr. Joshua is an Associate Consultant with the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. He is actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate medical education. A competitive marathoner and member of the Singapore national triathlon team, his clinical interests include endurance sport, esports medicine and mental health in elite athletes.


Tye is a Podiatrist in private practice. He has been treating elite and professional athletes from the Singapore Sport Institute, Football Association of Singapore, Singapore Sports School and dancers from the School of the Arts (Dance Faculty) for over two decades.


Vivien is a sports and dance Physiotherapist at Moving Space Sports and Physio. She has served with Team Singapore as a physiotherapist at the SEA Games, ASEAN Para Games, and Asian Games. As a dancer herself, she is also interested in dance-related injuries and rehabilitation.


Dr. Ivy is Chief and Senior Consultant with the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, pre-participation screening, sports safety, exercise in women and the role of physical activity in chronic disease management. She has also been an avid air rifle shooter since her secondary school days.


Balaji is the Director and Principal Sports Physiotherapist at Heartland Rehab. He has also served as Head Physiotherapist for the National Men’s 15s Team and National Rugby Academy for the Singapore Rugby Union. Being a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Medical Educator for World Rugby, his clinical interests lie in immediate care in sports and treating sports injuries.


Dr. Victor is an Associate Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine and Internal Medicine at Changi General Hospital. His clinical interests include sports injury management, weight management and exercise in cancer. His sporting interests include badminton, karate, ultimate frisbee and running. He has provided medical cover at SEA Games ’19, ’21 and ’23, and F1 Singapore Grand Prix since 2016.
