Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS) is the professional organisation for Sports Medicine and Sports Science professionals in Singapore. Its members represent and embody the multi-disciplinary spirit that its key to the speciality and includes physicians, physiotherapists, podiatrists, exercise physiologists, sports scientist, sports nutritionists, sports psychologists and sports surgeons, in one integrated community.

Tye is a Podiatrist in private practice. He has been involved in treating elite athletes for the Singapore Sports Institute, Football Association Singapore, Singapore Sports School and School of the Arts (Ballet Faculty) for nearly 2 decades.

Benjamin is a currently a Registrar in training at the department of Sports Medicine in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. His clinical interests include sports injuries, ultrasound guided interventions and strength training in sports and rehabilitation.

Joshua is a Registrar at the Singapore Sport & Exercise Medicine Centre @ Changi General Hospital (SSMC@CGH). A competitive triathlete and marathoner, his clinical interests lie in endurance sport, elite sport, medical education and community outreach.

Victor is an Associate Consultant in Internal Medicine and Registrar in Sports Medicine in Changi General Hospital. His interest is in exercise prescription, weight management and oncology rehabilitation.

Wei-Peng is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Education, NTU whose research focuses on understanding brain adaptations associated with exercise and neuromuscular control. His other research interests include the effects of nutrition and physical activity on brain health and function.

Balaji is the Director and Principal Sports Physiotherapist at Heartland Rehab. He has also served as Head Physiotherapist for the National Men’s 15s Team and National Rugby Academy for the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU). Being a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Medical Educator for World Rugby, his clinical interest lies in immediate care in sports and treating sports injuries.

SECRETARY

Ivy is director of Singapore Sport & Exercise Medicine centre @ CGH and a consultant sports physician at Singapore Sport & Exercise Medicine Centre. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, pre-participation screening, sports safety, exercise in women and the role of physical activity in chronic disease management. She is also an avid air rifle shooter since her secondary school days.

VICE PRESIDENT

Viven is a sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice, with a special interest in artistic sports like gymnastics and figure skating. She also specialises in treating dancers, especially with issues related to pointe work.

Mandy is an Associate Consultant at the Singapore Sports & Exercise Medicine Centre @ Changi General Hospital (SSMC@CGH) and Singapore Sports Institute (SSI). Her clinical interests include exercise prescription, sports injury prevention, musculoskeletal sonography and performing arts medicine.

Dinesh is a Sports, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultant based at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) Sports Medicine Centre, Singapore. While he sees and treats a wide range of sport-related and general MSK conditions, his clinical areas of interest include back and shoulder pain, team medicine and ultrasound guided interventions.
