Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS) is the registered society for Sports Medicine and Sports Science professionals in Singapore. Our members represent and embody the multi-disciplinary spirit that is key to the specialty. Our integrated community includes doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, sports nutritionists and dieticians, exercise physiologists, sports scientists and sports psychologists. We are a non-profit organisation committed to the promotion of quality Sports Medicine and Sports Science education to the sporting community in Singapore and beyond.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Micheal is the Director of HealthTech at ReMark Group. An exercise physiologist by training, his specialties include exercise prescription for children, clinical exercise testing, and strength & conditioning for junior athletes.

Dr. Mandy is a Consultant with the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. Her clinical interests include performing arts medicine, exercise prescription, sports injury prevention and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. She is also Chair of the SMAS Performing Arts Medicine Special Interest Group.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Jerald is a musculoskeletal and sports resident physiotherapist at Heartland Rehab. His clinical interests are in treating shoulder and lower back pain, geriatric rehabilitation, and post-operative physiotherapy. Outside of work, Jerald is an avid street dancer.

Eunice is a musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist resident at Heartland Rehab. Her clinical interests lie in treating lower back pain, elderly and geriatric rehabilitation, and post-operative rehabilitation. Eunice believes in developing a holistic treatment plan to guide clients towards their rehabilitation goals.

Dr. Joshua is an Associate Consultant at the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. He is actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate medical education. A competitive marathoner and member of the Singapore triathlon national team, his clinical interests include endurance sport and ultrasound-guided injection therapies.

HONORARY TREASURER

Chang Huey is a Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapist at Heartland Rehab. His clinical interests include post-operative knee rehabilitation, gym-related musculoskeletal issues, and strength and conditioning for optimising performance. Chang Huey is passionate about empowering his patients to regain greater autonomy over their symptoms and to live a healthier and more active lifestyle.

HONORARY SECRETARY

Tye is a Podiatrist in private practice. He has been treating elite and professional athletes from the Singapore Sport Institute, Football Association of Singapore, Singapore Sports School and dancers from the School of the Arts (Dance Faculty) for over two decades.

2ND VICE-PRESIDENT

Dr. Ivy is Chief and Senior Consultant with the Department of Sport & Exercise Medicine, Changi General Hospital. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, pre-participation screening, sports safety, exercise in women and the role of physical activity in chronic disease management. She has been an avid air rifle shooter since her secondary school days.

1ST VICE-PRESIDENT

Balaji is the Director and Principal Sports Physiotherapist at Heartland Rehab. He has also served as Head Physiotherapist for the National Men’s 15s Team and National Rugby Academy for the Singapore Rugby Union. Being a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Medical Educator for World Rugby, his clinical interests lie in immediate care in sports and treating sports injuries.

PRESIDENT

Dr. Victor is a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine and Internal Medicine at Changi General Hospital. His clinical interests include sports injury management, weight management and exercise in cancer. His sporting interests include badminton, karate, ultimate frisbee and running. He has provided medical cover at SEA Games ’19, ’21 and ’23, and F1 Singapore Grand Prix since 2016.
