REVIEW ON THE CHOICE OF GRAFTS USED FOR ACL RECONSTRUCTION. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE
A systematic review on the choice of grafts for ACL reconstruction, comparing long term follow up outcomes between bone patellar tendon bone (BPTB) and hamstrings grafts. Results, with a mean follow up of 8.96 years, show no significant difference between BPTB and Hamstring graft in terms of laxity and graft failure. However, BPTB graft has shown to have an increase in long-term anterior knee pain, kneeling pain and rates of osteoarthritis.
